2017 is set to be a somewhat strange garden year.
At least in the kitchen garden, where things go a little crazy.
The pointed bowls are sticking, the potatoes are meters high, and now the cauliflowers.
Best as you cut a neat head, a side shoot appears with the beginning of yet another bette cauliflower.
Such side shoots, which come before the actual head is harvested, I have seen on the scallions, but never on the cauliflower.
Unfortunately, I got to cut the side shoot off in a hurry, but it had hardly developed into anything quite much bigger than an egg.
