oak has for many years grown onions from seeds - including shallots, where you can get a number of different varieties. However, the seedlings give only a single small onion, unlike when growing shallots from scallions, which results in a 5-6 small bulbs.
For a long time I have been wondering what would come out of it if you put the shallots that had been grown from seed the year before. Would they behave like set skulls and divide, they would just go into bloom like ordinary onions, or ………
And now I do not have to wonder about it anymore. They divide.
