Broccoli as a second crop

Broccoli as a second crop

When you have a vacant bed in mid-July after harvesting potatoes, onions, etc., broccoli is ideal as a catch crop. It develops fairly quickly and at the same time thrives quite well when the cooler autumn weather sets in.

The variety Green Magic is one of the quickest: sown June 13, planted after the potatoes July 24, and today the first heads of 500 gr can be harvested. The variety also has the advantage that it is quite willing to form small delicious side shoots after the main shoot has been cut.

If you give the bed compost once before planting, the bionet over from the start to shut the pests out, and maybe a few times fertilizer solution during growing up, it can almost never go wrong. And then it just tastes completely different from the supermarket's industrial product.
