Ground cover prevents evaporation

Ground cover prevents evaporation

Today, Operation Cut and Tire has been held, where the hedge trimming becomes much more meaningful. The hedge is not cut because the hedge needs mowing, but because the ground needs covering. With the prospect of summer weather next week without quite a lot of rain, evaporation can quickly become a problem. In particular, the onion yield is greatly reduced if there is too little water in the soil - where, for example, the drought in May-June last year led to the century's saddest onion harvest in this house. Therefore, today the onion beds have been covered with hedges. Later comes the trip to the corn beds.
