GrowWater is a patented watering system developed by GrowCamp. The system can be used in all GrowCamp trays with a 30 cm frame.
GrowWater for a bed of 120 x 360 cm is made up of sections of 120 cm with dividers between.
Water tank
The system has three water containers, which are 15 cm high and have a total of 435 liters of water. The containers are placed as an insert at the bottom of the bed. Above ground is connected to the water through perforated pipes, which act as wicks. The wicks (kapilærvandingsrørene) sucks up the water, and the humidity spreads out in the entire bed.
Soil
There is room for 15 cm of soil above the water container. Instead of filling the land at all, you can choose to use a grow-as-is, as known from the white flamingo-watering boxes. But by filling the bed with soil, there will be room for the roots to develop naturally, so the plants thrive better.
Footer
The water is pressed by a strong rubber bag with the drain hose. The wicks support the rubber bag and carry the bottom that the earth is on. It is therefore important that the substrate at the bottom of the bed is firm, smooth, and free of sharp edges and objects that could damage the rubber bag where the wicks are supported. It is therefore recommended that there be a plastic plate, tiles, or planed boards at the bottom of the bed.
Adjustable water level
The irrigation system is equipped with a patented device that makes it possible to lower the water level to prevent the plants from getting too wet in cool growing seasons or during the establishment phase, where the root system is not yet developed completely. As you know, not thriving plants both too little or too much water. It is recommended that you only fill the water tank half full until the plants have formed a good root system. Otherwise, the soil tends to be wet - of course, especially during periods of heavy rainfall. However, there is a big difference in the ability of different types of soil to absorb water, so you have to try them. And it's easy to GrowWater where the water level can be lowered!
Water filling
Water filling is done quickly and easily via a large feeding tube, which is provided with a water level indicator.
