Are you walking around with a dream of having delicious and crunchy vegetables that are not eaten or taken over by the many different animals and insects that also dream of munching on your vegetables? Well, then a tunnel superstructure may be something for you.

This tunnel superstructure is intended for our Siberian larch wood raised beds of 120 cm x 120 cm. If you already have an existing raised bed, you can easily mount the superstructure on it.

Difference between tunnel superstructure and GrowCamp superstructure

It can be difficult to choose between a GrowCamp superstructure and a tunnel superstructure, because the difference can be difficult to spot.

The quality and materials are the same across the superstructures. Eg. is the insect netting in the same material and quality in the superstructures. They are just different in length and in how they open up. Likewise, the aluminum pipes and plastic fittings used in both superstructures are of the same good material. Both superstructures are of high quality and your plants, as well as those who enjoy your vegetables, will love you for the purchase. Read more about the difference between the superstructures in the "FAQ" tab.

A brief explanation of the difference between tunnel superstructure and GrowCamp superstructure.

Tunnel superstructure

A tunnel superstructure is made of aluminum tubes throughout the construction, which makes it stable and durable. It is assembled with hard plastic fittings that secure the frame. The insect net used in a tunnel superstructure is opened on the long side, where the entire side piece is opened at once. Therefore, you must be aware that if you buy a tunnel superstructure of e.g. 240 cm, then you open the entire side of 240 cm and not each section, as with a GrowCamp superstructure. The end gable do not open. In addition, the plastic cover is not included as standard, which is often used to give this greenhouse effect and extend the season.

The purpose of the tunnel superstructure is simply to give the plants good growing conditions, and protect them from rain or getting blown over by the wind, but where there is still plenty of opportunity for fresh air to pass through. In addition, and most importantly, it keeps caterpillars, birds and other insects out of your plants.

GrowCamp superstructure

The construction of a GrowCamp is slightly different, because its construction consists of both aluminum tubes and square profiles in hard plastic. This makes the GrowCamp more resistant than the tunnel superstructure. This is, among other things, because both insect netting and the plastic cover are included as standard, which makes the superstructure heavier. Both the insect net and the plastic cover are made in the length measurements, which are 120 cm and the sides are thereby opened in sections. So if you have a GrowCamp that is 360 cm in length, then there are three sections on each long side that can be opened. This allows you to work in section 1 (of 120 cm) without opening the remaining 240 cm. The end gable do not open. A GrowCamp can also be extended with several sections, so if you want to extend it by 120 cm (or more) it is possible, where the tunnel superstructure itself has the standard length indicated and they cannot be combined.

The purpose of a GrowCamp superstructure is to provide the best growing conditions, prevent heavy rain and wind from destroying or weakening your plants, extend the garden season and protect your vegetables from animals, insects and other things that are interested in your plants.

The tunnel consists of:

  • Pipe stand in 19 x 1.2 mm zendzirmir galvanized pipes, which are assembled with PE High Density fittings.
  • 2 end gables in insect netting with drawstring, which are pulled onto the pipe stand. On the outside there is velcro, which is used to fasten the cover in the longitudinal direction (long side). At the bottom of the end gable there is also velcro, which closes tightly against the raised bed.
  • 1 cover in insect netting.
  • 4 velcro rails which are provided with screws for bolting on wood raised beds. The velcro rails are used to attach the cover to the long side of the raised bed.
