Materials
- The frame is made of pure new PVC planks of 25 mm, which contrary to the recycled plastic is free of lead or other undesired materials.
- The planks are with slats that make them rigid, so they hold to large soil pressure.
- The planks have an insulating effect which results in higher temperature in the bed.
- The top section is also made of PVC with galvanized pipes.
- It is recommended to remove the plastic sides when the frost comes, as the big difference between the heat and the cold can cause the plastic to shrink.
Self-Watering
- As an option you can buy our self-watering system called GrowWater.
- It is available as a 15 cm tall inserted, which is placed in the bottom of the bed.
- It comprises 145 liters of water and can supply your plants with water for at least 1-2 weeks in the periods when it is at its hottest.
Soil
- The raised bed contains a total of ca. 400 liters when it is completely filled.
- When using self-watering, the raised bed can accommodate about 210 liters of soil.
- If you do not want our self-watering system or soil in the entire raised bed, you can buy 3 of our Grow Trays (no. FC3800). They have a height of 15 cm and containing each 50 liters of soil = 150 liters in total.
